Bred by the University of Arkansas in 1968, this is an incredibly well known tomato, popularized for its ability to fruit consistently in hot weather, yielding abundant crops of large, pink colored tomatoes. Incredibly large, pounder, pinkishred, heart shaped fruits are incredibly juicy with superb flavor. As the story is told, seed originating from a Russian immigrant came to a family and then passed down through the generations to its current home, an Oregon woman. Discovered in a French crop of standard Pineapple tomatoes, this selection is very unusual producing large fruits with skins colored green and dark purple with pink-red splotched and flesh colored bright green streaked with pink. An oblong shape of paste-type fruit with a wonderfully sweet flavor.
